Our latest shop update is all about cards!  We've been loving houseplants so we've got a new happy monstera leaf friendship card in the shop. I don't have a monstera plant just yet, but I want one! I always swear I won't buy a new plant everytime I head to the nursery since I have so many, but then I usually can't help it and end up taking home a new plant... whoops!! Who's with me on that one? We've also got a new churro birthday card in, I really enjoyed drawing these happy churros. We always love getting the churro at Disneyland, and while...

We finally got the shop all updated with a few new extras from CatCon! I've just added 6 new art prints, and 9 new button designs. Whew!   We had a great time vending at CatCon and we hope to do it again next year, and it's always great to be among so many cat lovers! We recently got a chance to visit the rare corpse flower at CSULB in Long Beach! If you haven't heard about this giant flower, it only blooms once every 7-15 years, and then when it blooms it only stays open for about a day. Sometimes even less!  And.. it stinks! It smells awful, plus we were there on a cold day and we were told it smells much worse when it's warm out. I think we lucked out a little bit on that.  My art process actually varies quite a lot, and a lot of the time I don't start with a sketch at all and just work straight in Illustrator. In this case though, I had this idea while sketching up some new ideas for CatCon, so I started with this little sketch.  I was too lazy to use my scanner (yep) so I just took a photo of it with my phone instead and then started drawing over it in Illustrator. You guys, it's our Etsyversary today!We started this shop 5 years ago today, as a tiny side gig for my day job. It's grown so much since then, and it's now my full time job! Running a business has been harder than I thought in a lot of ways, since as business owners we have to wear so many hats (marketer, illustrator, customer service, bookkeeping, etc) so I've learned a ton, but I wouldn't have it any other way. We're recently back from a 3 week trip in Thailand and it was amazing! We ate lots of delicious Thai food, checked out tons of temples, visited beaches, night markets, hikes, and went on almost every method of transportation there was (trains, planes, boats, motorcycle sidecars, taxis, baht buses, bikes, tuk tuks...)  We spent time in Bangkok, Pattaya, Kanchanaburi, Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai and had a great time in each one. Apparently the holidays are here already! We went to New York for a week recently, so I wanted to share a couple pics from the trip! We had a total blast and also lots of pizza.🍕 We went to lots of museums including the Met, MOMA and the Natural History Museum. We wished we had time to see the rest of the museums too but we’ll have to see them next time! Also visited the NY Public Library, High Line Park, Times Square, Central Park, Chinatown, Little Italy, and enjoyed just walking around neighborhoods like Greenwich Village and Chelsea and lots more.
